The Fashion Project

A project for the fashion-conscious, modern, modest woman. A low-tech, unprofessional photographic exploration of life's changes as we come to accept the path we are meant to take, and what we wear along the way.

Oldie but goodie

I "found" this scarf again and rescued it from the shelf it was covering. I bought it a few years ago because I loved the colors and the pattern on both sides. But when I started wearing scarves as hijabs, I couldn't stand to wear this one because it was too heavy. I wasn't used to the weight of it yet, and it pulled my hair down unpleasantly. Also notable, at the time I didn't have any bonnet caps yet. So, I decided to put it on and give it a try. It was also an experiment to see if I could handle wearing the heavier pashminas as hijabs, rather than just the lightweight viscose and chiffon scarves I have now. (Since there are some very lovely pashminas I'm dying to have...)

... ...

I think the experiment turned out well. It did get a little heavy toward the end of the day, but for most of the day I was fine with it. I think if I wore it a few days a week, I would get used to the weight. So, I think I'll be ordering those pashminas after all, hehe....
