No matter how feminine I try to be, I always end up in a punk rock-inspired outfit at least once every other week. I just can't help myself. It usually tends to be heavy on the black, but I've managed to throw a bit of color in there too. I'm pulling together a lot of random items in this outfit, including a cotton slip with ruffles on the bottom (great for making a short dress longer!), a tunic-style t-shirt tank with a rockin' guitar screen-printed on the bottom, a black cardigan that floats around my closet, a belt that came with a pair of pants I threw away like 5 years ago, a tube undercap and scarf I got in my Malaysia haul plus a black bonnet to hold it in place, a goth-lolita style brooch that came attached to a shirt I got sometime ago, and a pair of black boots that you can't see. They are the standard go-with-anything type with round toes and square heel. Kind of like horseback riding boots, only without the buckles.
I mentioned that I'm using a black bonnet to hold the red polka dot tube underscarf in place. The reason for that is because it is too big for my head and not tight at all. I'm not sure if Malaysian women have bigger heads than me or something, but it is so loose that even without a scarf on, it slides back across my forehead, displaying my hairline! Yeck! So I have to either wear a bonnet under it and pin it down, or wear a bonnet over it and tie it in the back. I was planning to order a bunch of these tube underscarves from an online hijab store in the UK, but now I'm nervous to, in case they are all too loose on me. Anyone else ever have this problem?

I Need Something....
Buy it here! Some of these shops I have ordered from myself, and some I haven't but have heard good things about. If you have used a shop, then please let me know so I can give it a star rating!

Because: HUGE selection (over 1,000 scarves), fast and reasonably-priced international shipping. Has everything a beginner would need, and is always getting new products, including Mona and Kuwaiti hijabs.

Seems to have a good selection of Al-Amira and Spanish-style caps, as well as some interesting bonnets and scarves.

A nice selection of modest clothing, including jilbabs, tops, cardigans, and maxi dresses. Also hijabs of all types. Offers a monthly contest for a free hijab.

Good selection of reasonably-priced hijab scarves, a wide selection of full-coverage underscarves (called Covering Bandannas on the site), bonnets, and the "bulkyjab," a generously-sized scarf for full coverage with lots of fabric to play with. Order within the UK only, because their international shipping rates are outrageous.

Newly launched modest clothing line by hijabi Hana Tajima-Simpson. A basic collection, but bound for great things. Basics of each item your wardrobe requires- skirts, trousers, polo tops, snood caps, dresses. Pre-ordered items shipped quickly, and were very high quality.

The tube under-scarves come in sizes though, you can get small!
I love the star scarf, it's too cute!
the tube underscarfs may be of slightly different fit though it's meant to be a one-size-fits-all. if it's too loose, pin it at the back of your neck to keep it in place :)
