The Fashion Project

A project for the fashion-conscious, modern, modest woman. A low-tech, unprofessional photographic exploration of life's changes as we come to accept the path we are meant to take, and what we wear along the way.

Day Two: Formal Event

Posted by Unknown |

This outfit was actually my original Work Wear outfit, and a perfect example of what I was wearing for the first three and a half weeks of my part-time job. However, it occurred to me that in Japan, this is exactly what I would wear to a formal event too. Depending on the event, I might wear black or a darker color rather than heather grey, but it would also depend on my mood. Sometimes I just don't want to bulk up in dark clothes.

The grey jacket, grey crepe skirt, white long-sleeve t-shirt and cotton hijab are all from Uniqlo. And I was wearing the tennis shoes, of course.

How are you wearing glasses over the scarfe?

Thanks, nice to meet you!

I usually wrap the scarf around my head two times, and slip the glasses in between the two layers, that way my hair doesn't come out and it doesn't stretch the edges of the cap uncomfortably.
