The Fashion Project

A project for the fashion-conscious, modern, modest woman. A low-tech, unprofessional photographic exploration of life's changes as we come to accept the path we are meant to take, and what we wear along the way.

Claire's Haul

Posted by Unknown |

Ok, so it's been a ridiculous amount of time since I last posted... honestly, I've just been incredibly busy and I had a bad cough keeping me up at night for about a week. But anyway, on to the fashion stuff. I recently went shopping at a little outlet called Claire's (this is sarcastic, because Claire's must be one of the biggest accessory shops around- they even have it in Japan!). They are known around here for having a lot of random one- or two-day sales over the weekend. I stopped by last weekend, and I'm very glad I did, because they were having a sale right up my alley.

I had been eying these floral brooches, thinking they were just about the right size, not too big, and nice colors. But at $10 each, a bit too pricey for my liking. Well, it just so happened that those brooches, along with several other varieties, were on sale! Everything over $6 original price was $3, and everything under $5.99 original price was $1. So I got myself 3 the price of one!

The little bow hair slide isn't featured in the big picture, but I actually ended up going back the next day and getting another one because it seemed to me that two of them next to each other would be double the cuteness! Speaking of cute, don't you love that mini hat? I don't know exactly what I'm going to do with it, but for $3, I couldn't pass it up. I actually did wear it on a brown square chiffon scarf and it didn't look too crazy, but I think I'd prefer to wear it with something a little more substantial (like a pashmina) because then it wouldn't stick out so much. Now I just have to buy a brown pashmina...
