Haute Hijab Launch

Posted by Unknown |

I'm pleased to share about the launch of a new modest clothing line, Haute Hijab. Those of you who participated in HFW probably remember this designer because she did a couple of giveaways. Well, they are finally ready to launch their new line, and in celebration, I want to share some exclusive photos and product information with you all!

A couple of things I love about the Haute Hijab line:

This is my absolute favorite. There isn't anything I don't like about this outfit- it's chic, professional, modest, and totally modern. I would wear this to the office, to meetings, out on the town. Each piece is versatile, so they can be combined with other clothing, which is a point I really look for when I shop.

Having just come from Tokyo, I can tell you that shirt dresses are a definite "in" for the next few years- plus they are modest, comfortable, and easy to match with a variety of looks. I think this outfit is totally adorable, but can be easily dressed up with different accessories or trousers.

This outfit is all fun- the bubblegum pink jacket is traditionally cut but the color makes it youthful. The blouse is high-necked, but the ruffles are subtle, which keeps it from looking too Victorian. And of course, we all love a little bling- but what I particularly like, is that it's a little bling. It stands out without being gaudy.

But what about the hijabs??? In all these looks, the hijabs are square style, wrapped tightly about the neck. As you might know from looking at my pictures, I never wear my hijab like that, and I don't own any square scarves. However, I really like the look in these outfits because it keeps the scarf from being the centerpiece (as it usually is when it's a big shayla), but it doesn't sacrifice anything in modesty.

If I were to adapt these looks to wear them myself, I would most likely wear a rectangle scarf, and wrap it so that the bottom is over the collar in the front, but under the collar in the back. In these looks, all the scarves are tucked into the collars, which is fine for business or professional dress (and I think it's more appropriate if you are in a situation where a long hanging scarf would get in the way), but for casual wear, these outfits totally work with a bigger scarf.

At Haute Hijab, you can buy many of the key items in these pictures. The prices for the clothing are a bit high-end for me, but the scarves are reasonable at $20-$50. All items are now available for purchase on their website, linked on the name. On their website you can also see hijab tutorial videos, advice for storing hijabs, and also some fun giveaways!
