The Fashion Project

A project for the fashion-conscious, modern, modest woman. A low-tech, unprofessional photographic exploration of life's changes as we come to accept the path we are meant to take, and what we wear along the way.

I must say, I am totally in love with the hijab style of these two ladies, and I love their outfits too! Luckily the clothes are actually for sale and very reasonable! (Range approx. $20-$31)

The way this hijab is wrapped seems like a great style for the beach. No loose ends flopping around in the wind, no worry about the folds coming undone. With the floral dress and light-colored cardigan, it's a light and breezy summer look.

Some might be opposed to hijabs and hats, but I think this look really works! The angle of the hat reveals the scarf wrapped around the neck, making it seem part of the style and not just a modest necessity. The ruffles in the blouse and skirt make it feminine but not too complicated.

As for me, for the last little while I haven't needed to wear a hijab, because I've just been bumming around the house! It feels good to putz, although I do really need to be writing. That is one of the major goals for this summer. Once I get back to Japan it will be work work work, but also more opportunities for hijab styling ;)
