Today I felt a little daring with color. The bright shininess of summer found it's way into my blood, and influenced my hijab design. However, I'm of the opinion that there is such a thing as too much color, so I chose as my clothing palate, the most neutral color scheme imaginable- light gray and white. I suppose there is an argument for taupe or beige, but that would have washed out the yellow (and my skin too!). Plus, I don't have a full length khaki skirt.
Below, a couple close-ups of the fun! I call this alternation the " pink ripple." I suppose it could be any color ripple, depending on what scarves you use. I used a pink satin sash belt (remember when those were popular? It was about 5 minutes during 2001 or so...) which hasn't found a context in my wardrobe for a very long time. Now that I've found a fun use for it, I can incorporate the other three colors I have sitting in my closet!
With it all, I wore my sequin striped ballet flats also circa 2001, an Old Navy special. Don't you love that store? I miss it...... :( I can't say what possessed me to drag these shoes halfway across the world with me (perhaps because they were very light-weight?) but they served me well today, at least.

Salam Alia! I really love the ripple effect, it's very simple but cool too
