I am reviewing a new product by the company Capsters, which you may have seen as a featured sponsor in HFW. You also may have noticed that I was wearing this sport hijab in my Workout post. The sports hijab I am reviewing is called the Runner.
"Capsters is a range of head accessories that can be used for different purposes. Our sports range can be worn for different sports activities, and our casual line consists of models for everyday wear. The exclusive line can dress you up for special occasions. The history of Capsters lies in the graduation project of designer Cindy van den Bremen at the Design Academy Eindhoven back in 1999. The concept is based on the idea to give Muslim girls and their gym teachers in the Netherlands an alternative to the traditional hijab to wear during gym class. The designs are realized in close co-operation with Muslim girls and an Imam. Due to all the positive publicity, orders started coming in and soon the brand Capsters® was born. In 2001 the first sports range was launched and has been sold worldwide since. Not only Muslim women showed interest, but also other women and even men. For several years now Capsters has served an international and diverse clientele."
Here is a closer look at the Runner hijab. It is essentially a hood, made of very fine cotton and elasthan, which gives it a nice stretch but doesn't stretch out. To put on this hijab, you just slip it over your head like an amira.
Here is an extreme close-up of the fabric. As you can see, it is very tightly woven for good quality, but the fabric breathes easily and doesn't accumulate sweat. I noticed that it did get wet during a workout, but it didn't cling uncomfortably to my neck and I hardly even noticed it.
The Capsters Runner fit well around my face, with a little space for breathing room, but not enough for my hair to start coming out, which is a major pet peeve of mine. I didn't have to wear an undercap either, which helped keep my head cooler when I got heated up. The design went right around the curves of my face, so that no part of my ears or hairline was visible, which I think set it apart from other hood-style hijabs. In order to get them to sit right, I often had to push them back to my hairline or a little over, but the Runner hijab fit perfectly.
My only design complaint was that the bottom edge was a little short, so that while it did tuck into the crew neck of a t-shirt, it wouldn't be long enough if the shirt had a V at the front, like many uniform shirts do. I'm not sure if other products would feature longer length on the bottom, but as for the Runner hijab, it was just long enough without any extra.
In all, wearing the Capsters Runner instead of a regular scarf or an amira was an absolute pleasure when working out. I barely noticed I had it on, and I didn't have to think about it, which made it easier (and more fun) to just think about my jog and nothing else. I am definitely going to continue wearing this hijab, and if I decide to join a sports team someday, this is the first company I will think of when I go shopping for my next sports hijab.

I Need Something....
Buy it here! Some of these shops I have ordered from myself, and some I haven't but have heard good things about. If you have used a shop, then please let me know so I can give it a star rating!

Because: HUGE selection (over 1,000 scarves), fast and reasonably-priced international shipping. Has everything a beginner would need, and is always getting new products, including Mona and Kuwaiti hijabs.

Seems to have a good selection of Al-Amira and Spanish-style caps, as well as some interesting bonnets and scarves.

A nice selection of modest clothing, including jilbabs, tops, cardigans, and maxi dresses. Also hijabs of all types. Offers a monthly contest for a free hijab.

Good selection of reasonably-priced hijab scarves, a wide selection of full-coverage underscarves (called Covering Bandannas on the site), bonnets, and the "bulkyjab," a generously-sized scarf for full coverage with lots of fabric to play with. Order within the UK only, because their international shipping rates are outrageous.

Newly launched modest clothing line by hijabi Hana Tajima-Simpson. A basic collection, but bound for great things. Basics of each item your wardrobe requires- skirts, trousers, polo tops, snood caps, dresses. Pre-ordered items shipped quickly, and were very high quality.
