The Fashion Project

A project for the fashion-conscious, modern, modest woman. A low-tech, unprofessional photographic exploration of life's changes as we come to accept the path we are meant to take, and what we wear along the way.

Glam

I'm not really a "glam" girl, but I went out on a limb and tried a style I read about in another blog, a fabulous fashion blog called StyleCovered. If you haven't seen it, then you must go there! Right now!

Coincidentally, just a few days after I read Hana's blog post about tiered dresses and ruffles, I found a tiered tank dress (in Japan, they call it a "one-piece," meaning it's too short to be a dress and too long to be a shirt. The name kinda fits.) They only had two colors, white and black. Going against my natural instincts, I went with white. On the same day, I also happened across a tiny stand set up next to the escalators of the bookstore I frequent. The old ladies manning the shop were selling a lot of beautiful scarves, all very pricey. However, there were a couple of shiny silk scarves of solid colors on sale. In keeping with the theme of the day, I went with a color I normally wouldn't choose, a lovely kiwi green. It wasn't until later, when I got home, that I decided these two went together.

To complete the assemble, I wore a tan cardigan, khaki trousers (skinny style), a black and gold lace underscarf cap, and star-shaped seashell earrings.

Thanks!!! I'm planning to make a photo tutorial soon, with how I wrapped this scarf. It's actually very easy. I'm a beginner so easy is about all I can do! Haha.
