For fun, I've decided to include a video of the mash-up I was listening to when I posed each day's pictures. Lately I'm a bit obsessed with mash-ups because they blend two seemingly opposite songs into one fabulous composition. A bit like my fashion sense! Haha. I think knowing what I was listening to (my "mood" music, so to speak), will lend a perspective to my poses and outfit choices. I hope you enjoy them!
The story of this outfit. Well, I was panicking big time when it came to figuring out the Eid outfit, because generally speaking I have clothes for every theme except that one. I have a couple of salwar kemis that my in-laws bought me a few years ago, but they are not "hijab" (short sleeves, huge onna scarf that cannot be tied around the head without resulting in serious injury :P ), so I don't wear them anymore. However, I also don't have anything remotely fancy enough to be called an Eid scarf, and I didn't want to order one just for one picture.
Then I had a "eureka" moment and remembered that one of the salwar tops I had folded into a long-forgotten drawer had come with a lace sequin scarf. I dug it out and discovered it was just the thing! Then it was a matter of building an outfit around it. Fortunately I bought one maxi skirt over the summer, and it was a neutral color. Since the scarf is navy, I didn't want to wear it with a light color blouse and have it look black, so I wore a black blouse instead. A belt and a couple bracelets, and I was ready to rock and roll!
